Cute place, liked the lobster decor. Ate my first lobster roll, yum. Service was a bit slow but they were quite busy so...they get a free pass on that.

The RC is one of the hidden gems of dining in Mid-Coast Maine. This is comfort food that is authentic and delicious. The seafood is incredibly fresh. The Lemon Pepper Haddock flakes off your fork. (Order it low salt so you can taste how fresh it is.) The fries are never frozen. Everything is truly made in house following the traditions of the family that still owns and runs the restaurant. The interior is classic Maine diner. Consistently good seafood.

Went there on a Thursday and I have to say it was so much better than expected! Breakfast cook was amazing and accommodating we were so close to the cut off for breakfast menu items but they let us put our order in anyway. I'd definitely return.

If you are interested in not genuine service and boring food that may have been heated up in a microwave. This is the place to go. I have not had a successful trip to Rockland Cafe. Every time I have gone, I have had very boring good that appears to be dry and not fresh. The servers appear to be rushing. I do not recommend going here for breakfast. Location decent which is a plus and they are some reason always busy. For growing up in this area, that is really mind blowing to me.

PRETTY COOL PLACE. Carlene was very nice and pleasant to speak with. Food was great - Farmers omelet and home fries, extra crispy perefection. Coffe was good too. Lots to admire on the walls, great old photos, artwork is spectacular, tons of stuff. Definately go for the food and the atmosphere, you will not be disappointed.

Excellent Seafood Chowder with chunks od haddock shrimp and lobster, no onions and no potatoes. Can get all you can eat items.

Lobster roll was a bit bland. Personally I like a little butter on top and it was also mostly claw meat. The turkey sandwich looked great and so did their chowders. This place is CASH ONLY but there is a bank and ATM across the street.

Nice place to have a bite to eat. The prices are reasonable and taste of the food was real not like some places serving fake food. The service was fine, the inside didnt seem run down but in good condition with a ocean town theme.

TLDR: Great location, nice service, priced right, okay food. This joint is right smack downtown, but has good parking availability and options. Food wise, we ordered a gamut from the menu, ranging from fish and chips, burgers, to fries, and prime rib. Everything tasted fine, but nothing stood out - it was all rather plain. One thing I did enjoy seeing is the all-you-can-eat fried seafood baskets or buckets - I might come back to try these out.

It's a great cafe with many options for each meal, with a specialty in seafood. Love its location downtown, and the service was great.

Wonderful co-op type restaurant. Cozy atmosphere with the added bonus of a small bookstore in the back. Prices were reasonable and food was delicious. There is also art space on the walls for local artists.

I have been going here since I was a little kid. One of my favorite places. The food is amazing and they always have such a friendly staff. I definitely recommend them if you want a delicious seafood platter.

One of my favorite restaurants. ..very cozy..."wicked" good food...and the best waitresses around. The menu has plenty to choose from....pastas, beef, chowders, seafood.....just too much to list. My favorite is the fried clams and lobsters....each time I go, I have something different. My mouth is watering while I write this review...lol. I also wanted to mention that they have an " all-you-can-eat Seafood .....but after seeing the superseded plate they give you to start off...I can't imagine many people being able to eat more. I have never had desert there....because I am to stuffed after what I eat of my order....and bring home a big doggie bag as well....to munch on the next day. You won't be dissapointed ...give them a try....and enjoy!!

I live in Central Oregon. I travel to Maine every year in September or October. I always visit Cadillac Mountain and The Rockland Cafe. Twoof my most favorite places.

While not being 5 star, I will POSITIVELY return to the Rockland Café again when I return! Our server, a gal from MA, was tremendous! She actually allowed me to try a tiny portion of a meal I was considering (Maine Whole Belly Clams)... She was totally right, a Michiganian is not meant to eat Maine Whole Belly Clams! But to compromise with myself, the LOBSTER dinner was 100% worth the price. I apologize for the 4 star rating, but as a diner, I'd give it a 5 out of 5, yet, 4 is the best for a Friday night dinner.
